The four individuals convicted in the murder of rising rapper Foolio have been sentenced to life imprisonment.

On June 22, Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy, and Rashad Murphy stood before the court in Hillsborough County, Florida, for the concluding sentencing phase of their case.

Following their conviction in May 2024 on all charges linked to Foolio’s murder, Judge Michelle Sisco handed each of the men a life sentence without parole for first-degree murder.

In addition to the life sentences, the defendants received concurrent sentences for other charges related to the case. Although they faced the possibility of the death penalty, the jury opted against it during the penalty phase of the trial in May.

Before the final verdict was delivered, all defendants except Rashad Murphy addressed the court. Both Chance and Davion Murphy took the opportunity to advise young people to avoid the destructive path they had chosen, warning it leads nowhere meaningful.

“It ain’t worth it,” Chance told the court. “The dissing, the beefing, the shooting. Like, for what? When you’re sitting in your cell alone, cold, lonely …Everybody leaves you. Nobody is here for you.”

“My only interaction with law enforcement [before this] was traffic tickets,” he continued. “Wake up the next morning, I’m facing the death penalty. That’s how quick life can change.”

In May, Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy, and Rashad Murphy were convicted of the murder of Foolio, who was ambushed and fatally shot in a hotel parking lot in Tampa during the summer of 2024.

A fifth individual involved in the case, Alicia Andrews, was found guilty of manslaughter in 2025 and received a 15-year prison sentence last month. Prosecutors have stated that the killing stemmed from an ongoing gang feud in Jacksonville, Florida.
