29 years ago today, Fugees – consisting of Wyclef Jean, Pras and Lauryn Hill – released their second and last studio album, “The Score”, on February 13, 1996 via Columbia Records.

“The Score” was a commercial success, peaking atop the Billboard 200. It also topped the “Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums” chart for 8 weeks, becoming the longest running #1 for a Hip-Hop group. The singles “Killing Me Softly”, “Fu-Gee-La”, and “Ready Or Not” became all-time classics.

The production was handled by the Fugees themselves, Jerry Duplessis and Warren Riker, with additional production from Salaam Remi, John Forté, Diamond D, and Shawn King.
