Jeezy is speaking out about ending his marriage to Jeannie Mai for the first time since filing for divorce in September.

“The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart,” the Grammy-nominated artist said. “Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart.”

Jeezy said that his focus now is on their “beautiful” daughter Monaco, whom he called “the best gift from our relationship.”

“Our beautiful daughter is the best gift from our relationship and I am committed to assuring she feels the love and stability she deserves,” Jeezy added. “During this period, I kindly request that you respect our family’s privacy as we focus on healing.”

The couple, who married in March 2021, welcomed their daughter in January 2022. They have a prenuptial agreement so it’s unlikely that Jeannie Mai will be walking away with half of Jeezy’s reported $20 million net worth.

While Jeannie and Jeezy first met years ago when he was a guest on “The Real,” their love story didn’t begin until November 2018 about a year after she announced her split from ex-husband Freddy Harteis when they had their first date.
