Funeral proceedings for the late rapper Takeoff, whose real name is Kirsnick Khari Ball, began at 12 p.m. ET Friday (November 11) as fans and loved ones gathered for the “Celebration Of Life For Takeoff.”
The service was held in State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, which has a capacity of 21,000 people. The Migos member grew up in the city of Lawrenceville, located roughly 30 miles west of the Georgia capital.
Among those in attendance were Quavo and Offset, who gave speeches at the funeral, as well as Cardi B, Mayor Andre Dickens, Gucci Mane, Cee-Lo Green, City Girls, Russell Simons, Lil Yachty and many more.
Mourners gathered in the State Farm Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks, including Offset’s wife Cardi B, who concealed her eyes behind a massive pair of sunglasses as she sat in the audience.
Drake reportedly spoke about the brotherhood he developed with Migos in a video posted on Twitter, all the times they toured together, and comparing themselves to the legendary Rat Pack — Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford.
Justin Bieber, Chloe Bailey and Yolanda Adams all performed during the ceremony for the late rapper, who was shot and killed at a Houston, Texas, bowling alley on November 1.
