Two-time Grammy-winning R&B artist Kehlani is set to release her highly anticipated self-titled album this week, and fans have plenty to be excited about.
Already creating a buzz with tracks like “Folded,” Kehlani is stepping it up even further by enlisting an impressive roster of collaborators for this project.
The Oakland-born singer, known for her emotional songwriting, has pulled together a stellar lineup for what might be her most introspective album yet.
Featured artists include Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Cardi B, Brandy, Big Sean, Usher, Missy Elliott, Lil Jon, Clipse, and Leon Thomas, setting the stage for a diverse and powerful musical experience.
This blend of contemporary icons and legendary voices brings an exciting dynamic to the upcoming album. Notably, her tracks with Usher, Lil Jon, Big Sean, and Clipse mark their first collaborations with her.
That said, Kehlani has previously worked with Pusha T of Clipse on “Retribution,” from his “King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude” project.
Additionally, the inclusion of Brandy and Missy Elliott brings a touch of history to the album. Brandy had previously joined Kehlani for a remix of “Folded,” while Missy Elliott was featured on “Back and Forth.”
Both tracks earned praise from fans and showcased how well Kehlani blends her style with these legendary artists. “Back and Forth,” along with “Folded” and “Out the Window,” are confirmed to be part of the 17-track album.
Fans won’t have to wait much longer — Kehlani’s fifth studio album drops this Friday (April 24), which also happens to be her 31st birthday.
