Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean are set to reunite as part of Global Citizen’s return to Brazil next month, bringing a distinct Fugees flavor to the event.

The two co-founders will share the stage to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic hip-hop album “The Score” during a special concert on Saturday (June 6), at Ipanema Beach.

This free, ticketed event is the grand finale of the inaugural Rio Nature & Climate Week, organized by Instituto Natureza e Clima Brasil, the City of Rio de Janeiro, Re:wild, and Global Citizen.

“The Score”, released in February 1996, was the second and final album by the Fugees. Featuring timeless tracks like “Ready Or Not”, “Killing Me Softly”, “Fu-Gee-La”, and “No Woman, No Cry”, the album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and earned a Grammy Award for “Best Rap Album” in 1997. By late 1997, it had achieved six-times platinum certification by the RIAA.

Wyclef Jean, who is also a Global Citizen ambassador, expressed enthusiasm for the milestone celebration in Rio de Janeiro. He stated it’s an ideal way to mark three decades of “The Score” while collaborating to drive positive change.

The reunion, however, will not include the third Fugees member Pras Michel, who began serving a 14-year prison sentence last month following his conviction on multiple charges including money laundering, conspiracy, and illegal foreign lobbying.

Global Citizen Live: Rio de Janeiro will also feature performances by YG Marley and Zion Marley, alongside local star Ludmilla. The Latin Grammy-winning Brazilian artist is set to co-headline the event with songs from her upcoming 2025 album “Fragmentos”.
