4 years ago today, the music industry mourned over the passing of rising Louisiana rapper JayDaYoungan at the age of 24.

On July 27, 2022, he was shot at least eight times outside his home and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital in Bogalusa.

JayDaYoungan, who had millions of followers on social media, was known for his hit songs, “23 Island,” “Elimination” and “Opps,” and considered a rising star in the Rap scene. His debut album, “Misunderstood,” peaked at #43 on the Billboard 200.

May he rest in peace and his legacy continue to be remembered.
