Roc Nation addressed a rumor that Jay-Z is allegedly dropping an album this year.

Rumors of a new Jay-Z project circulated on social media on Sunday (January 28) after director Hidji World posted Instagram Stories implying he was on set with the New York rapper.

In the Instagram Story, Hidji World teased a photo of a first-take film slate that read, “JAY Z-2024 ALBUM.” Hidji’s name appeared to be written as the director while Leroy Farrell was the director of photography. It alluded to a new Jay-Z music video in the works.

As the rumors began to pick up steam, Roc Nation was quick to respond, commenting on a post on X: “That’s news to us.”

The 54-year-old’s last full-length solo album was 2017’s “4:44,” which debuted and spent two weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200. It spawned three singles in “4:44”, “Bam,” and “Family Feud”, as well as several music videos directed by a variety of high-profile collaborators.

In 2018, he released “Everything Is Love” with Beyoncé as The Carters, which was the first joint set from the husband-and-wife duo.
