Ready to pop off, rising California rapper stoneda5th unleashes his anxiously awaited new mixtape entitled “Life Of A Joint”, via 300 Entertainment.
The 12-track project pulls back the curtain on his world. Throughout the opener “Front & Back,” he unloads punchy bars underpinned by his instantly recognizable rasp. Meanwhile, he teams up with OMB Peezy on the fiery “Fully Loaded.”
A menacing string loop sets the tone as Peezy’s chantable chorus warns, “Fully loaded and we ready for whatever,” between lyrical flexes from stoneda5th. The finale “Road To Riches” finds him alone in a moment of introspection. Ominous piano wraps around 808s as the refrain rings out, “Murder what she wrote, stay ten toes I gotta do it for the bros.”
Ultimately, raw emotion courses through the entirety of this body of work. As such, the cover artwork also collates photos of its narrator from infancy up until the present day.
Of course, the definition of “joint” varies from neighborhood to neighborhood. On the West Coast, it serves as a compliment meant to describe anybody who “is the sh*t,” according to stoneda5th.
Hailing from Moreno Valley, CA, stoneda5th quietly buzzed out of the infamous Inland Empire with a dynamic and disruptive style of his own. During high school, he engaged a growing audience with the likes of “Criminals & Locs,” “Revenge,” and “Pick A Side,” while “Rock & Roll” with R3 Da Chilliman generated 2.6 million Spotify streams, reeled in 3.2 million YouTube views on the music video, and attracted a feature from Peezy on the remix. Signing to 300 Entertainment, he’s primed to become the next best rap phenom from the Westside.
