Sean “Diddy” Combs was placed on suicide monitor at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center where he awaits trial for his alleged sex crimes as the 54-year-old’s mental state is unclear.

As previously reported, Combs was arrested at a Manhattan hotel on the night of Monday (September 16). The next day, his indictment was unsealed, revealing that he’s charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Inmates are placed on suicide watch as a “supervisory precautions taken for suicidal inmates that require frequent observation,” according to the US Department of Justice National Institute of Correction. The embattled Hip-Hop mogul being added to the watch is a “preventative measure.”

Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center has long been plagued by tales of “barbaric” and “reprehensible” conditions for inmate, which have also included sex abusers R. Kelly and Ghislaine Maxwell.

In a 14-page indictment, prosecutors accused Combs of “creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in … sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice.”
