The new Mobb Deep album is finished.
The Alchemist confirmed the news that a new project from Havoc and Prodigy is on its way
“The new Mobb Deep album is done. Produced entirely by Havoc and The Alchemist,” the hit producer tweeted.
No more details have been revealed about the upcoming album, which is highly anticipated by the Hip-Hop community.
The forthcoming release will be the Rap duo’s first album since 2014’s “The Infamous Mobb Deep” and the first group album released since the tragic passing of Prodigy.
The legendary New York rapper died on June 20, 2017, after reportedly being hospitalized for complications related to sickle cell anemia. His official cause of death was accidental choking, as it was revealed he choked on an egg while in the hospital.
The rapper — real name is Albert Johnson — was on tour in Las Vegas alongside Ghostface Killah, Onyx, KRS-One, and Ice-T, when the incident occurred.
Sickle cell anaemia is a condition in which red blood cells contort into a sickle shape and die early, leaving a shortage of healthy red blood cells that can lead to a painful blockage of blood flow.
Alchemist has been tied to Mobb Deep since the early 2000s and the album comes as part of the “Legend Has It” series from Mass Appeal Records.
