In a music landscape often dominated by diss tracks, Young Thug has chosen a different path, offering a sincere apology with his latest song, “Man I Miss My Dogs.”
The emotional track debuted as a visual on Thug’s Instagram account. Accompanying the release, he shared the song’s lyrics, revealing it as a public apology to his partner, Mariah The Scientist, and industry peers such as Drake, Lil Baby, Future, 21 Savage, and Gucci Mane.
“Baby, I’m sorry/ One of my biggest fears is losin’ you to the internet/ Wakin’ up in our bed with you right by my neck/ Sayin’, “Don’t you break a sweat,” he raps about Mariah The Scientist.
Each verse is uniquely dedicated to these individuals, expressing remorse and appreciation for their relationships.
About Drake: “Drizzy, you my brother/ You know I ain’t goin’ against you, I got manners/ Everythin’ you did for the rap community, can’t ban you/ Never diss you, came to visit me at Cobb County like my kin do/ Fuck the jail call, you know the other calls we had.”
About Lil Baby: “Wham, pick up the phone, yeah, talk to me, it’s Spider/ Taught you everythin’ you know about this shit, we for lifers/ God told you in the bible, the devil will knife you/ Rats already winnin’, don’t let this shit divide us.”
About Future: “Man, I miss my dog/ Sittin’ down and havin’ talks with me, nigga/ Walkin’ me through this life shit, you deserve an apology/ Standin’ right beside you and you was right beside me/ I don’t gotta speak on your name, they know astrology/ Always a dog to me/ Always kept it real/ So I had one mission, that’s to make you proud of me.”
About 21 Savage: “Savage, you are a real nigga, don’t let them tell you different/ You’ve been callin’ my phone ever since niggas went missin’/ I wish the Internet could hear the calls, I’m so serious.”
About Gucci Mane: “Nigga, you know you ain’t soft/ And you didn’t raise a rat/ Nigga, Guwop word law/ I think Jeezy’ll tell you that/ Nigga, please I’m not a rat/ But that cheese where it’s at/ All the niggas on the case that didn’t take pleas, that is that.”
In addition to unveiling the song, Young Thug announced that his new album “Uy Scuti” will be released on September 19. While details such as the tracklist and guest appearances remain under wraps, fans eagerly anticipate what’s next.
His last studio effort, “Business Is Business”, dropped in 2023 while he was facing RICO charges during his incarceration.
