Diddy faces a setback in his attempt to serve his 50-month prison sentence at a low-security facility.

The Bad Boy Records founder, convicted earlier this year on charges related to prostitution, had requested to be housed at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. He argued that this location would enable him to address his drug dependency issues, maintain family connections, and maximize rehabilitation efforts.

However, Judge Arun Subramanian, who presided over Diddy’s high-profile trial and issued his four-year sentence, strongly opposes the request. The judge insists that the disgraced mogul should serve his sentence in a facility closer to the New York metropolitan area.

In legal documents obtained by TMZ, Subramanian emphasized that Diddy should be placed in a detention center offering any substance abuse programs he qualifies for, including the Bureau of Prisons’ Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP).

Federal prosecutors have not taken a specific stance regarding Diddy’s incarceration location, leaving the ultimate decision to the Bureau of Prisons. The timeline for this decision remains uncertain.

This past summer, Diddy was convicted of two counts of transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution but was acquitted of more severe charges involving racketeering and sex trafficking. Prosecutors alleged that he manipulated and coerced women to satisfy his sexual desires while maintaining his reputation and concealing his actions.

They claimed he abused his business empire’s resources and influence, fostering a criminal enterprise engaged in crimes such as sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

Though Diddy pleaded not guilty and denied the accusations repeatedly, his lawyers acknowledged during the trial that he had been physically abusive towards his ex-girlfriend Cassie, who served as a key state witness.
