Rick Ross has issued a cease-and-desist order to Remy Ma over her upcoming movie, “The Biggest Boss”.

The letter claims the film allegedly uses Ross’ music and trade name without his permission. Additionally, Ross expressed concern that comments on social media have created a false impression of his involvement in the project.

A representative for Remy Ma told TMZ that she was unaware of these concerns and is taking the matter seriously.

“Remy was personally unaware of the concerns raised regarding ‘The Biggest Boss’ and takes the matter seriously,” a rep for Remy told TMZ. “She has maintained a personal and professional relationship with Rick Ross for more than 20 years and would never intentionally engage in any action that could harm his brand or cause offense.”

The plot of “The Biggest Boss” reportedly follows a police officer who takes on the life story of a drug dealer before launching a career as a rapper — a premise slightly reminiscent of Rick Ross’ transition from corrections officer to hip-hop artist.

After becoming aware of the issue, Remy Ma’s team reached out to Rick Ross directly and decided to remove the film’s title from The Remy Network, where it was originally set for release.

The rep further stated, “The Remy Network is now working closely with its partners to strengthen review processes and ensure that situations like this do not occur moving forward.”
