Rod Wave has officially announced the release date for his upcoming album, “Don’t Look Down”.
The Florida-based rapper and singer revealed on June 16 that the project is slated to drop on August 28, just before the close of summer.
To accompany the announcement, Rod unveiled an emotional trailer set against the backdrop of a funeral. The visual features the “Heart on Ice” artist alongside his crew as they strategize for their next steps.
In the clip, he declares, “No more sneaky business, no more side deals. Keep building our own machine. Keep going and don’t look down.” When asked what’s next, he responds succinctly: “Album.”
The trailer wraps up with a teaser of a passionate new track, which is expected to appear on “Don’t Look Down”. Meanwhile, a press release has confirmed that a lead single will be released soon.
On the previewed song, Rod reflects with heartfelt lyrics: “I am the chosen one/ The only one they banking on/ Real s–t that raw s–t they waiting on.”
This announcement follows the success of his most recent album, “Last Lap”, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 upon its release in 2024.
