9 years ago today, the Hip-Hop community mourned the loss of one of its most revered voices with the passing of Prodigy from Mobb Deep.

Prodigy rose to prominence as one of the most influential MCs of his time. Together with #Havoc, he played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of East Coast Hip-Hop, contributing to iconic albums like “The Infamous”, “Hell On Earth*, and “Murda Muzik”.

Renowned for his gritty storytelling, distinct delivery, and raw honesty, thze New York rapper crafted some of the genre’s most unforgettable verses on tracks such as “Shook Ones Pt. II”, “Survival Of The Fittest”, “Quiet Storm”, and “Temperature’s Rising”.
