A Michigan drug case, initiated by a traffic stop last year, has concluded, sparing Sada Baby additional jail time.
On August 20, the Detroit rapper was sentenced to six months of probation after submitting a no-contest plea for the possession of less than 25 grams of a controlled substance. He was also credited for three days previously spent in jail.
As reported by CBS News, the charges stemmed from a traffic stop in January 2025 in Sterling Heights. Police encountered the rapper, legally known as Casada Sorrell, while inspecting a Dodge Ram near Mound Road and 18 Mile Road.
Law enforcement discovered he had an outstanding warrant from an earlier driving-while-unlicensed issue and arrested him. During this incident, officers allegedly found suspected contraband inside the vehicle.
This discovery led to an additional criminal case. Prosecutors claimed that pills containing oxycodone hydrochloride and acetaminophen were found in a bag placed in the driver’s-side door. It was asserted that Sorrell lacked a valid prescription for these medications. An arrest warrant related to the drug charge followed, leading to his April 2025 arrest.
Sada Baby Avoiding Further Incarceration
In March, Sorrell entered a no-contest plea in Macomb County Circuit Court. Records indicated he sought resolution through the county’s drug court program. His sentencing concluded with a six-month probationary period announced this week.
Despite legal challenges, Sada Baby sustained his career in the Detroit rap scene, gaining national recognition with tracks like “Bloxk Party” and “Whole Lotta Choppas,” the latter achieving Billboard Hot 100 status following a 2020 remix with Nicki Minaj.
With sentencing finalized, Sorrell will undergo probation supervision in Macomb County for six months. Prosecutors did not impose any further jail time beyond the three days already credited to him.
