Hello Mulan V! Before we get into it, how are you feeling today? How is life treating you?

I’m doing great, feeling blessed to be here enjoying life especially with everything going on around us in the world right now.

For the starters, let the people know where Mulan V is from and what you are about.

I’m from Los Angeles, California. I’m a musician and creator, my brand focuses on my music and beauty related things.

How long have you been making music and who are some of the artists that inspired you to want to make music growing up?

I’ve been making music since I was a teenager. Some of the artists that inspired me were Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj, a lot of West Coat artists like Snoop Dogg, N.W.A., and Tupac… to name a few.

How did you get your rap moniker Mulan V?

It started as a nickname like Mulan Vanity. The vanity represented the beauty side of my brand and who I am. People loved it and it grew so I shortened it to Mulan V… it gave an edge to it.

You just released your single “Put That On The Thang,” which is doing big numbers on Spotify. What is the song about?

Yes, the song was inspired by West Coast slang we use from time to time. When you’re giving someone your word, you put it on something. So sometimes we’ll say, “I put that on the thang” and that’s what sparked the theme of the song.

We read that you are currently working on your debut album. What can your fans expect and when will it be released? Any title yet?

The title of the album will be a secret as of right now but they can definitely expect many different vibes from the album… a little bit of everything. I think most people will gravitate towards the sound it brings.

Where do you get your influences from when crafting music in general?

My influences comes from what’s usually going on around me and of course from growing up in L.A. really helps me craft my sound.

You are signed to indie Los Angeles label Freestyle Records. How did that come about and how is it working with them?

My father is the owner so naturally things fell together perfectly. I’m able to be myself and make music the way I want so the process is interesting and fun at the same time.

What’s it like being an indie artists in today’s oversaturated urban music industry?

It’s actually the new wave I believe. Makes it easier as an artist to express your creative abilities and deliver the music you want, how you want.

Who are some of the artists you’re listening to right now and why?

I’m listening to a little bit of everybody right now: Drake, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby, ASAP Ferg and a lot more. Their music has so much energy behind it, gets you hype and that’s needed right now with everything we’re going through in this economy.

Let’s now focus on your overall swagger. As far as style, delivery and appearance what do you bring to the table?

I bring an energy and a vibe that can’t be touched. It’s my own so I’m able to craft it how I want. It’s my style, my delivery and how I appear and that’s what makes it Mulan V.

What is your opinion about the music industry at the moment? What would you chance if you could?

My opinion is I feel like things are moving in a better direction. More artists are expressing themselves and getting more creative. If I could change one thing it would be for us to see artists of different genres working together and creating new sound that we haven’t heard to give us something new and fresh to vibe to.

Finally, is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

Yes, thank you for all the support and keeping up with the brand and make sure you lookout for my upcoming releases.

In the end, let us know where people can find you online?
