50 Cent is no stranger to controversy, frequently clashing with various figures in the music industry.
One such conflict involves Maino, who recently discussed their disagreements on an episode of the “Let’s Rap About It” podcast. While Maino expressed admiration for 50 Cent’s impact on hip-hop, he questioned the authenticity of the persona the rapper portrays.
“I respect you as a businessman, I respect you as a man, and I respect you for what you’ve done for n***as,” he explained. “But I don’t know nothing about no gangster sh*t. I don’t know nothing about that. I’m a n***a that you’ve got to show me that.”
Maino conveyed a similar sentiment during a recent interview with VladTV. During the conversation, he challenged Vlad’s assertion that 50 had significant street conflicts with numerous influential figures.
The tension between them flared up in December when Maino and his podcast co-hosts offered candid opinions about Fif’s Diddy docuseries, “Sean Combs: The Reckoning”. Jim Jones went so far as to label it a “mockumentary,” sparking a heated exchange.
Earlier this month, Maino went after 50 Cent in a scathing diss track called “Bleed Like Us.”
“Be careful when you come at me, n***a, you couldn’t humble me / Why the ones you beef with end up in fed custody? / 50 ways to catch a killer, is that your energy? / Only Black men, no white men, is your enemy?” he raps.
“Only white kids in the ‘burbs thought you was gangsta / We f*cked with you ’cause of your story, thought you was like us / Just to find out this whole time you was the wanksta.”
