21 Savage has responded to fansβ backlash regarding his recent comments on the relevancy of Nas.
On Monday (November 14), the βHer Lossβ rapper found himself in hot water after making controversial comments about Nas and his new album βKingβs Disease 3.β
During a heated Clubhouse debate earlier over the weekend, 21 stated, βWhat yβall saying, relevant though? I donβt feel like he [Nas] is relevant. I just feel like he got fans.β The 30-year old Atlanta rapper added, βHeβs not relevant, he just has a loyal ass fan base. He just has a loyal fan base and he still make good-ass music.β
Taking to Twitter to briefly address the situation, 21 shut down the notion of him disrespecting a veteran rapper like Nas and all those who came before him.
βI would never disrespect Nas or any legend who paved the way for me,β he tweeted. βYβall be tryna take stuff and run with it.β
Both 21 and Nas just released new albums. 21 Savage and Drakeβs βHer Lossβ opened at #1 on this weekβs Billboard 200, while Nasβ βKingβs Disease IIIβ with Hit-Boy was met with critical and fan acclaim.
