Offset recently reflected on his past mistakes and regrets during his marriage to Cardi B.
Appearing on Keke Palmer’s podcast, “Baby, This is Keke Palmer”, on October 7, the Migos rapper spoke candidly about the challenges in their relationship, admitting to poor decisions and missteps that contributed to its turbulence.
“I was definitely not perfect. I made a lot of mistakes,” Offset said. “I did a lot of wrong, and it’s always on the front screen, so it was hard to move on from it.”
Offset acknowledged his shortcomings, emphasizing his lack of respect and selfishness.
“I should have respected her way more. I made bad decisions as a man, like stepping out, I gotta take that on the chin. That’s why when she left, I had to take that on the chin … I was being selfish, you know what I mean? And I can say that as a man. I’m a grown man.”
He also opened up about the impact of social media scrutiny on their relationship, expressing a desire to block out the external pressures.
“I wish there wasn’t so much interest in our stuff going on,” he added. “I’ve done got out of pocket a couple of times because it feels like you’re getting bullied.”
Offset and Cardi B started dating in 2017 and secretly tied the knot later that year. Their relationship faced numerous public ups and downs — with Cardi filing for divorce in September 2020 and again in August 2024 — eventually leading to their separation.
