Blueface has been released from prison after nearly two years of incarceration.
The 28-year-old rapper took to Instagram on Monday (November 3), sharing a video from his home to announce his release from California State Prison in Los Angeles.
“Still that ni**a, two years later,” he says in the clip. “On the dead homies.”
His mother, Karlissa Saffold Harvey, had been hinting at his release for several weeks. Last month, she shared with TMZ that Blueface was nearing the end of his sentence and might be freed before his scheduled parole eligibility date in December.
“I have the coming home party,” she said. “Make sure you guys get your tickets for the celebrity Blueface coming home party. I’m going to be picking him up with his kids. His girlfriend got us a limo, so you know I’m excited. I’m excited for new beginnings.”
On Sunday (November 2), Blueface’s mom posted a cryptic video of someone under covers, sparking speculation that he was already home. However, she chose not to confirm his release and encouraged followers to join her Patreon page for more details.
Blueface’s father also hinted at the rapper’s release in an Instagram post on the same day. “Today is the end of a chapter in my family’s life,” the post reads. “Tomorrow is the beginning of a new chapter in my family’s life. Can’t wait.”
The rapper had turned himself in last January after violating probation linked to the 2021 assault of a club bouncer. He received a four-year prison sentence in August but served 21 months before being released on Monday.
