Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, faces potential arrest in Brazil ahead of his planned concert on November 29 in São Paulo.
As reported by Metropoles, the São Paulo State Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPSP) has allegedly issued a directive to detain Ye should he make any pro-Nazi remarks during the performance or sing his contentious song “Heil Hitler.”
São Paulo Mayor Ricardo Nunes stated that no one advocating Nazism would be permitted to perform or express such views using public facilities managed by the City Hall. He emphasized that the city would take every necessary measure to prevent anyone promoting Nazism from conducting activities within São Paulo.
“No one who promotes Nazism will play or sing any words on public equipment belonging to the City Hall,” said São Paulo mayor Ricardo Nunes on November 10). “We do not accept it and we will do everything necessary to ensure that no one who promotes Nazism has any kind of activity here in the city of São Paulo.”
Nunes further reiterated that events featuring individuals who endorse Nazism will not be tolerated in municipal venues under any circumstances.
He continued, “Here in the city of São Paulo, we will not allow events by people who promote Nazism in municipal spaces.”
