Drake has quietly ended his partnership with the booking agent he shared with longtime rival Kendrick Lamar earlier this year, avoiding media attention.

Sources indicate that Drake and his former agent Brent Smith, of Wasserman Music, have not collaborated for the majority of 2025 due to tensions stemming from last year’s dispute with Lamar. The fallout included the release of Drake’s Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping diss track “Not Like Us.”

Drake was represented by Smith for over a decade, dating back to their time at WME. Their professional relationship continued after Smith transitioned to Wasserman Music in 2020, where he now holds the title of executive vice president and managing executive.

As reported, Drake will now be represented by a team at CAA, headed by Daryl Eaton.

Drake’s move away from Wasserman coincides with the massive success of Lamar and SZA’s Grand National Tour, which grossed $358.6 million — one of the most profitable hip-hop tours ever — and sold 1.76 million tickets.

Drake is preparing his own extensive tour for 2026 in partnership with Live Nation, maintaining a long-standing exclusive global touring arrangement.

The shared representation of Drake and Lamar had been a noteworthy detail within the music industry, especially as their rivalry escalated.
