The Netflix docuseries “Sean Combs: The Reckoning” has unveiled a series of shocking revelations about the relationship between Diddy and The Notorious B.I.G.

According to Kirk Burrowes, co-founder of Bad Boy Records, following Biggie’s untimely death on March 9, 1997, Diddy initially intended to make the rapper’s funeral a grand and memorable event.

However, Burrowes claimed that the costs were ultimately shifted onto Biggie’s estate after Diddy saw the expenses involved.

Burrowes recounted, “Sean said, ‘We’re gonna do the biggest funeral for Biggie that New York has ever seen. We start to put that together, he starts to see the price. He says, ‘We’re gonna do the biggest funeral, but Biggie’s gonna have to pay for this funeral.’”

He further explained, “He was gonna make the funeral be a recoupable charge to Biggie in death. Sean doing a big show looks good on him. But he’s not gonna tell the world that Biggie was gonna pay for it.”

Biggie’s funeral took place on March 18, 1997, at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel. Thousands of fans lined the streets of Brooklyn during a solemn and emotional funeral procession to honor and celebrate Christopher Wallace’s life and legacy. Celebrities such as Lil Kim, Lil Cease, and Faith Evans attended the service.

This wasn’t the only allegation raised by Burrowes during the docuseries. He also accused Diddy of pressuring him into renegotiating Biggie’s record deal with Bad Boy to create terms that were more favorable for the label.

Additionally, Burrowes claimed that Biggie had been reluctant to travel to Los Angeles to promote his upcoming “Life After Death” album due to the escalating tension between the East Coast and West Coast hip-hop communities.

Despite this, Diddy reportedly canceled Biggie’s planned trip to the U.K., keeping him in Los Angeles through early March, just days before his tragic death.
