Jay-Z has unveiled a new platform to honor his remarkable 30-year journey in the music industry.
The legendary rapper launched a website, JayZ30.com, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of his iconic track “Dead Presidents,” which debuted on February 20, 1996.
The website celebrates not only this milestone single but also Jay-Z’s enduring influence in the world of music. Roc Nation’s official Instagram account shared the news, featuring images of Jay-Z and highlighting the song’s first-ever release on digital streaming platforms.
Notably, his name on the platform reflects the umlaut over the “ÿ,” reminiscent of earlier branding.
Fans of the timeless anthem, produced by Ski Beatz, will recall its classic hook sampling Nas’ lyric from “The World Is Yours”: “I’m out for dead presidents to represent me.”
Initially released under Roc-A-Fella Records, the independent label Jay-Z co-founded with Damon Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, the track has remained a fan favorite throughout the years.
In another nostalgic move, Jay-Z has updated all his YouTube music videos to include the original umlaut in his name.
As of now, there’s no confirmation on specific plans to commemorate the 30th anniversary of “Reasonable Doubt”, Jay-Z’s debut solo album released on June 25, 1996.
The seminal project features collaborations with legends like The Notorious B.I.G., Foxy Brown, and Mary J. Blige, alongside production contributions from Ski Beatz, Knowbody, DJ Premier, Irv Gotti (credited as DJ Irv), and DJ Clark Kent.
The album is home to unforgettable tracks such as “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” “Ain’t No N**ga,” “Brooklyn’s Finest,” “Can I Live,” and “D’Evils.”
Jay-Z’s celebration of his storied career is a fitting tribute to an artist who has defined an era and continues to influence generations of listeners.
