Chris Brown and Usher, two of the most prominent figures in R&B, recently sparked widespread buzz with the announcement of their collaborative tour.
While the news thrilled many fans, it also faced backlash, largely centered around Brown’s history of domestic violence allegations and past controversies.
In response, Brown took to his Instagram Story on April 26 to address the negative reactions. He acknowledged the enthusiasm surrounding the “Raymond & Brown” tour but directed his frustration toward critics targeting his supporters.
He condemned the criticism as hypocritical and rooted in performative outrage, calling out what he perceives as unwarranted obsession with his personal life.
“The funniest and the weirdest s**t ever to me is the fact that people have the option to come to my tour and the option not to,” he wrote.
“I know everyone who is a fan of me and USHER will definitely be in the building and it will be PACKED just like last year. But I’m scrolling through insta and tik tok and I come across rage bait pages and or these fake woke stand up for nothing pages bashing people for wanting to come have a good time. The dudes hating, I can understand that (thinking we gone steal ya girl and s**t). BUT THE KARENS, and the self hating h*es be making me LAUGH. I CANT WAIT TO RUB THIS S**T IN YALL FACE.”
Amid this ongoing debate, the tour featuring Chris Brown and Usher is still expected to thrive during its run from June 26 to December 11.
Controversies like these have long been a part of Brown’s career, yet they don’t appear to deter his supporters. In the foreseeable future, he’s likely to keep navigating and deflecting such criticisms.
