YG has publicly refuted the persistent rumor linking him to Drakeo The Ruler’s murder in his latest track, “We Know the Truth”.

The Compton, California rapper dropped his new album, “The Gentlemen’s Club”, on June 19 alongside the music video for the song. In this release, YG directly confronts and puts to rest the long-standing allegations surrounding his involvement in the tragic incident.

“They say I murdered this, they say I murdered that/Well, if that was true, you’d be a f**king rat,” YG raps. “And I’d be in the cell sleeping on a rack/But too bad that ain’t a f**king fact.”

“I came to get the dough, was finna hit the stage/Then I heard how y’all heard, somebody got hit with a blade,” YG continues. “I heard ni**as saying, ‘YG paid’/Stop lying, ni**a, come run YG fade.”

Drakeo The Ruler tragically lost his life at the age of 28 after being stabbed during a backstage altercation at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. Festival on December 18, 2021. He succumbed to his injuries the next day.

Following the incident, rumors began circulating that YG, another performer at the festival, might have been connected to the killing. However, YG was never charged, and no arrests have been made in relation to the case.

In the subsequent year, Drakeo’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against multiple individuals and organizations tied to the festival, including Snoop Dogg, Live Nation, and others.

Watch as YG addresses the rumors surrounding his alleged involvement in the tragic event below.
