Lil Durk has chosen not to testify in his ongoing murder-for-hire trial.

According to journalist Michael Blackshire’s report on September 3, the defense concluded their case without calling Durk or his two alleged co-conspirators to the stand.

“The defense has fully rested. Durk Banks (Lil Durk) Deandre Wilson (OTF Dede), and David Lindsey (Browneyez) will not testify,” Blackshire wrote on X.

Lil Durk is accused of planning a 2022 attack on Quando Rondo as revenge for King Von’s 2020 death. Although Rondo survived, his cousin, Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson, lost his life during the incident.

Throughout last week, numerous witnesses testified in defense of the Chicago rapper. Among them were Tonya Johnican, sister to his former security guard Big Country; Kevin Freeman from his charity Neighborhood Heroes; Shekema “Queen Kema” Springfield, mother of one of King Von’s children; Sanchay “Dharmic” Jain, the previous Senior Vice President of Marketing at Alamo Records, which represents Durk; and others including OTF Jam’s wife and Durk’s former girlfriend.

Durk and his legal team maintain he was not involved in the planning, arguing that Kavon Grant, known as OTF Vonnie, was actually the “mastermind” behind the plot.

If all proceeds as planned, closing arguments for this case are set to start on September 8. With no testimony from the codefendants, jurors will rely entirely on the evidence and testimonies presented against these defendants.

While opting not to testify is a common legal tactic, this decision significantly influences the trial’s proceedings.

Durk has pleaded not guilty and, if found guilty, he could face a life sentence.
