Nearly six years after Dallas rapper Mo3, born Melvin Noble, was tragically shot on Interstate 35E in his hometown, the legal proceedings are nearing conclusion.

In a recent development, NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth reports that a jury convicted Kewon White of capital murder, sentencing him to life in prison. White was accused of being hired by rapper Yella Beezy to kill Mo3, with Beezy and another suspect, Devin Brown, set to face their trials soon.

According to Candace Sweat of NBC 5, Noble’s mother addressed the court, offering a poignant victim impact statement. She expressed that she saw in White a “young man who was looking for acceptance, and perhaps even love” and remarkably forgave him, professing her love despite the circumstances.

Devin Brown is also charged with capital murder, while Yella Beezy (real name Markies Conway) stands accused of orchestrating the murder-for-hire plot. White’s trial spanned two weeks, during which the presiding judge reminded him of his right to appeal.

White appeared emotional, reportedly wiping away tears during Noble’s mother’s statement.

When Is Yella Beezy’s Trial?

Prosecutors now turn their full attention to the upcoming trials of Brown and Beezy, with the latter’s trial penciled in for September 14 per Dallas County Clerk records.

Beezy is notably implicated as the alleged mastermind behind the murder, with the prosecution intending to leverage insights from White’s and Brown’s cases to strengthen their argument.

Yella Beezy’s defense, helmed by attorneys Toby Shook, John F. Gussio, and Michael Mowla, continues to reject these accusations. The defense strategies utilized in the trials of White and Brown are expected to inform Beezy’s case.
