J. Coleās annual Dreamville Festival will continue under a different name. The Raleigh festival was set to end this year after launching in 2018.
Dreamville and Live Nation festival producer Sascha Stone Guttfreund confirmed the news, disputing earlier reports that this yearās iteration would be its last.
āWeāre going to be here for years to come,ā Guttfreund said. āThis is a multi-year deal, and weāre so excited to be working with the city of Raleigh together on something new and exciting, and to continue to build on this incredible thing that weāve done over the years.ā
Raleigh City Manager Marchell Adams-David also noted that the festival will likely continue.
āWeāre going to continue on the same path thatās been successful for us. Our consumers have told us what they like, and weāre going to try to provide that to them for the next four years.ā
She added that Cole plans to stay on board even if he doesnāt serve as a future headliner.
āWeāre using the Dreamville label to a certain extent. He will obviously be involved, whether or not he headlines. Thatās probably not going to be an occurrence, but he is a local resident. He is totally committed to this community, and he is totally committed to this festival.ā
Ibrahim āIbā Hamad, Coleās manager and business partner, shared: āWe wanted to keep the feeling of just the community. We call it our family reunion. I think a lot of people from all over the world and from all 50 states come in, and itās good to be able to do it here in North Carolina.ā
The final edition of J. Coleās Dreamville Festival is set to kick off this weekend, with headliners J. Cole, Lil Wayne and the Hot Boys and Big Tymers, Erykah Badu, and 21 Savage. Other performances will include GloRilla, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Ludacris, Tems, Chief Keef, Wale, Coco Jones, Ab-Soul, Young Nudy, Keyshia Cole, and BigXthaPlug.
