Lil Wayne has secured a $29,225 judgment in his favor following a lawsuit in which he was accused of assaulting a security guard.
On June 10, a California judge ordered the plaintiff, Christian Carlos, and his attorney to pay the five-figure sum, covering Wayne’s legal fees. This decision came after the court determined in April that they had consistently failed to comply with discovery orders.
The judge dismissed the lawsuit, which had initially been scheduled for trial in August.
“The court is granting terminating sanctions because plaintiff willfully refused to comply with three discovery orders over nearly ten months, made affirmative misrepresentations to the court about compliance, and has still provided no responses as of April 21, 2026,” the latest ruling reads.
In December 2023, Carlos filed a lawsuit against the New Orleans rapper, alleging that Weezy had punched him in the ear and threatened him with a gun during an incident that reportedly took place at Wayne’s Hidden Hills, California, home in 2021.
“Plaintiff suffered severe emotional distress, requiring him to seek mental health treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) stemming directly from this incident,” the lawsuit reads.
According to a source cited by TMZ, the altercation reportedly stemmed from Lil Wayne confronting a security guard over accusations of taking photos and leaking them to the media. However, Lil Wayne’s team has dismissed claims that the incident occurred.
Meanwhile, the rapper is gearing up for the North American stretch of his “20 Years of Carter Classics Tour”, set to begin later this month.
