Pooh Shiesty’s trial date has been officially set in the federal case involving allegations of kidnapping and robbery related to Gucci Mane.
According to documents from the Dallas federal court, the trial is scheduled to commence on July 6, 2026, following a final pretrial conference slated for July 1. The case will take place under the oversight of Senior U.S. District Judge David Godbey.
The Memphis-based rapper, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., is one of nine individuals indicted in this case. Among the other defendants are his father, Lontrell Williams Sr., and another well-known rapper, Rodney Wright Jr., more widely recognized by his stage name, Big30.
Federal authorities allege that Pooh Shiesty coordinated a meeting with Gucci Mane, legally known as Radric Davis, at a Dallas recording studio earlier this year. The meeting purportedly escalated into an armed robbery and kidnapping involving Gucci Mane and his entourage.
The incident is believed to have originated from conflicts over Pooh Shiesty’s recording contract with Gucci Mane’s New 1017 label. Prosecutors contend that Williams was seeking to exit the agreement, allegedly resorting to unlawful means.
Defense attorneys have disputed these allegations in prior hearings, emphasizing a lack of concrete physical evidence directly implicating Williams in the events described by prosecutors.
Pooh Shiesty has been held in federal custody since his arrest. Earlier this year, a judge denied his request for release, determining that prosecutors had demonstrated probable cause in connection to the kidnapping allegations.
The court filing also details various procedural deadlines leading up to the trial, including those for submitting discovery materials, witness lists, motions, and evidence.
