Young Thugâs father adressed that he isnât happy about the conditions of his sonâs release from jail.
Atlanta news outlet 11Alive talked to Jeffrey Williams Sr. outside of the courthouse.
âWell, I was kinda startled behind it,â he told reporters before saying he agreed with his sonâs lawyers to keep trying to fight instead of entering a guilty plea. âLetâs keep fighting, you know, letâs make them continue to embarrass themselves, but at the same token, I never tried to interfere with his decisions and I support him.â
Williams Sr. continued, âI feel great that heâs going home, but at the same token, I still want him to fight, but thatâs his decision. I raised him to be the man that he is. You know, Iâve always been in his life, from a pup to now. And Iâm gonna continue to be in his life. As an adult, he has to make his own decisions.â
He was also asked about some of the conditions of his sonâs release. âIâm totally against that, because this is where heâs from. To have a district attorney take that away from him â sheâs from another state â To see her take a man away from where heâs from, to have to go live somewhere else, thatâs offensive to me. Iâm really offended by that.â
âIn order for us to get back to our normal life, we gonna have to put in some more work. But the work that we need to do foremost for the city of Atlanta, Fulton County? We need to get rid of the poison thatâs in our system, and thatâs the district attorneyâs office, so vote Courtney Kramer.â
Young Thug was released from jail after changing his plea to guilty in Georgiaâs longest-running criminal trial. He averted prison time with probation, bringing a stunning close to a chapter of a case that has riveted court watchers for nearly two years.
